About MeI was born and raised in Angola, New York. I graduated from Lake Shore Senior High School. In order to pursue my lifelong passion for teaching and working with children, I chose to attend Medaille College and received my Bachelors of Education in Early Childhood and Childhood Education with a concentration in Social Sciences. In August of 2018, I graduated from Western Governors University with my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
For my student teaching internship, I was placed at Hillery Park Elementary in Buffalo, New York. My placement was in a Co-Teaching 2nd grade classroom composed of general education students as well as, special education students and English language learners (ELL). During my internship, I was responsible for the complete planning and execution of lessons in all curricular areas, communication with parents and staff, monitoring social and behavioral development, as well as running parent/teacher conferences. My second placement was in a 3rd grade classroom at St. Benedict's Elementary School in Buffalo, New York. During my placement I was responsible for the complete planning and execution of all lessons including religious education and developing projects for a rich learning experience. I am currently working at GLP Primary in Eden, New York. Previously, I worked as a 1st and 4th grade teacher in Pine Valley, and as a temporary teacher in the Buffalo Public School District as a 1st grade teacher, a 4th grade teacher in a mixed Gifted and Talented and General Education classroom, and as a 3rd grade teacher. At Buffalo Public Schools I was a member of the Social Studies Curriculum Committee and wrote curriculum guides for various grade levels. I have experience teaching Eureka Math, Next Generation Learning Standards, the NYS Social Studies Framework, Journey’s and the NYS ELA modules. Additionally, I have taught and trained in Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), CHAMPs classroom management, Powerschool, ESchool, Infinite Campus, iReady, MobyMax Learning Strategies, Computer Science Discoveries and Step up to Writing. I have a strong passion for integrating technology into the classroom and expanding student and teacher understanding of the growing technological world around them. I believe that compassion, multicultural education and utilizing educational technology whilst maintaining rigor, warmth and positivity in the classroom are key components in today’s education.
